Uses

Everyone has that one desk they keep coming back to and tweaking. Here’s mine.

The Machine

MacBook Pro M4 Max 14" โ€” 36GB RAM. Daily driver for everything: DevOps workflows, Kubernetes clusters, Terraform runs, the occasional Solidity compile. Runs Docker Desktop, multiple terminal sessions, and a browser with too many tabs without breaking a sweat.

The Display

LG 27UP850N-W โ€” 27" UHD 4K IPS. USB-C with 96W power delivery, so the MacBook charges and outputs video over a single cable. Color accuracy is solid for the price point. One screen at a time โ€” I never run the laptop display alongside it.

Input

  • Logitech MX Master 3 โ€” the scroll wheel alone is worth it. Custom gestures mapped per-app via Logi Options+.
  • Apple Magic Keyboard โ€” no frills, matches the MacBook keyboard layout so there’s zero switching cost.

The Desk

Electric standing desk 120x60cm โ€” motorized height adjustment from 72cm to 122cm. Built-in USB port for charging. I alternate between sitting and standing throughout the day. 120cm width is the sweet spot โ€” enough room for the monitor, laptop, and coffee without feeling cramped.

What’s Not on the Desk

The real infrastructure lives elsewhere โ€” a homelab running Proxmox, Kubernetes, Cloudflare tunnels, and a stack of self-hosted services. The desk stays clean; the servers do the heavy lifting.
